U13B’s vs Worth School

A heroic performance from the boys which deserved far, far more. A 5-0 scoreline belies the fact that this was an incredibly exciting and high quality match, despite the monsoon-like conditions and a pitch resembling the Western Front. The boys tried to play an expansive and ambitious running game, in contrast to the opposition, who seemed content to kick away possession, but could not quite get over the line. Unfortunately we did struggle for continuity at times, giving away a shed-load of needless penalties at the breakdown and making handling errors at crucial times.

It feels a little unfair to pick out individuals from such collective excellence but some really do deserve a mention. George Osman-Sellwood led the way in defence, levelling anything that came near him. Without him the opposition would certainly have scored more tries. Victor Karera showed excellent footwork when running back opposition kicks, beating defenders at will. Alfie Hallsworth was a work-horse, hitting rucks, making important tackles and doing the grunt work with ball in hand. Honourable mentions too to Joseph Willis-Faulkner, Louie Tremarco, Jack Burbridge, Henry Ede and Emmanuel Odujebe.
