Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School 1st XV vs  Wilmslow High School
On: Saturday, 03 Dec 2016
Venue: Away

Wilmslow HS is always traditionally one of the toughest fixtures of the season so this was always going to be difficult task away from home. After both schools had been in tough cup games during the week changes had been made to give some bench players game time. Mgs started the stronger and tries by Ciaran Connolly and James Molloy (2) put the visitors into a commanding lead, half time approached and a comfortable win looked the most likely outcome. However a really sloppy second half with numerous mistakes and dropped balls allowed Wilmslow to come back and make the score board look a lot closer. By the end I think all the players were glad to see the ref blow for full time.

Definitely a hang over from Wednesday but a win is a win, we must be more clinical against poor teams and stay focused for the whole game, a chance to put 50 points on a Wilmslow side was not taken. After the poor second half, Mr Spratling also wants his £1 entry fee refunded.

Man of the Match: Charlie Parker.
