Match Report
Bloxham School Junior Colts A XV vs  St Edward's School, Oxford
On: Saturday, 07 Sep 2013
Venue: Away

For the first 20 minutes of the new season Bloxham dominated both possession and territory, pinning St Edwards back in their own half. The Bloxham defence was strong and organised making it hard for the opposition to gain ground. Bloxham worked hard at the break down causing turnovers and also slowing down the St Edwards ball. The forwards were mobile running well and causing the defence problems, creating good opportunities for the backs to run good lines but the St Edwards defensive line stood strong. In the final 15 minutes of the first half St Edwards work the ball out wide and used their fast men to good effect, resulting in several tries. As the second half got underway Bloxham piled on the pressure, again starting the more dominant team. Mid-way through the second half after a long surge of Bloxham pressure, and several penalties by St Edwards, the ball was spun out to the centres, where Nick von Sydow carried the ball well beating several St Edwards defenders to score under the posts. This was converted by Jonty Russell-Rayment. Two more counter attack tries finished the game. St Edwards played well utilising their pace out wide after some good attacking play. Final score 45-7.
