Match Report
Bloxham School 1st XI vs  Solihull School
On: Saturday, 04 May 2019
Venue: Away

On a very cold Saturday, the 1st XI were hosted by Solihull. The Bloxham team won the toss and chose to bowl first and were rewarded with some tight bowling early on. A few chances went by them but they kept the scoring rate to a low level for the first half of the game. After 20 overs, Solihull were 86-3. Jamie M and Ben SP lead the attack well.

The second half of the innings saw the Solihull number 3 take the attack to the Bloxham bowlers and ended on a magnificent 124. Ben SP finisheded the innings with 3 quick wickets and figures of 5-38.

Bloxham's run chase started with the seemingly usual loss of a wicket in the first over. A small recovery led by A. Din and H. D-Smith saw Bloxham try to get back on terms but the constant loss of wickets meant that Bloxham were 84-7 after 20 overs. Some late hitting from Josh K-F and O. Maw helped Bloxham get to 125 all out.

A steep learning lesson for Bloxham who saw the value of builidng partnerships to then set up a score that would challenge oppostion bowlers in future weeks.
