Match Report
Scotch College 1st XV vs  Aquinas College
On: Saturday, 22 Jun 2019
Venue: at Home

Scotch seemed to be switched on in the opening minutes of the game with the boys putting a big effort in on defence. Ivan Munoz-Murillo laid some strong tackles which lead to the ball being turned over. Strong carries and smart snipes by Jack Jagger lead to Matt Moore getting over the line putting Scotch up by 5-0. The ball was kicked off and Scotch was straight back into attack with regular line breaks from Sam Meecham putting Scotch on the front foot once again. A piece of individual brilliance by an Aquinas winger led to an 80m intercept try in the corner. Scotch were brilliant with their response bringing it straight back at Aquinas going into the half time with a comfortable lead and a bonus point already. Half Time Score: Scotch 26-5 Aquinas.

Much like the first half, Scotch put pressure on Aquinas with their intensity led by William van Uffelen and Ned Cusack’s loud voice in defence. Jack Jagger and Damian Haynes beginning to click at 9 and 10 led to space being created for Matt Moore who once again showed his speed, finishing with a bag of four for the day.

With a few players scheduled to return to the line up next week, Scotch are looking strong going into the game against Trinity.
