Match Report
Guildford Grammar School 1st XI vs  Wesley College
On: Saturday, 22 Jun 2019
Venue: Away

After a couple of tough weeks, the confidence was up among the group that we could come finish with a positive result against Wesley who we had held to a nil all draw in the first game of the season. Unfortunately this mindset was costly and we started the game without the intensity we had brought in previous weeks, finding ourselves 3 goals down before the half time break.

The team regrouped at half time and with slight adjustments to our playing style along with significantly increased intensity from the boys we came out much stronger in the second half. We were able to control the game for large portions of the second half but weren't able to break through on the scoreboard resulting in a 3 nil loss at full time.

The second half performance was a great example of the teams willingness to compete and determination of the group. Although the final result was disappointing, the group continues to develop; learning and playing with new game styles that should hold them in good stead for future rounds and next year.

The two games before the break, present big challenges with matches against two of the top three schools. These games will be a great test for the group who continue to work hard despite being struck down by injures and absentees throughout the season to date.

As we learnt from this weeks performance it is important to show all opposition the same respect regardless of who they are or where they're placed on the ladder.
