Match Report
Tonbridge School 1st XI vs  Charterhouse
On: Saturday, 25 Feb 2017
Venue: at Home

Two weeks on from our last match, it was important we started well against a Charterhouse side who have achieved some good results this year but on the day were missing players and so there for the taking. Dan obliged in customary style with a fine reverse shot and we should have had several more in the first half but for some unnecessarily extravagant finishing after well worked circle entries and some fine goalkeeping. 1-0 at half-time had upset written all over it, but a timely refocusing saw pressure lead to a short which was neatly converted by Maddy the injector. We now began to play some attractive passing hockey which resulted in several more goals and even more near misses. A nice reverse finish from Duncan, an impossibly tight angled conversion from Maddy and another reverse strike from Dan all entertained the crowd who today comprised of several old boys from the seventies who had come back to see the game. I trust they were suitably impressed! Charterhouse had a wonder goal, a one off consolation strike to lift their spirits at the very end. All in all a very pleasing result and performance- it is always good to put my old school back in its place!
