Match Report
Tonbridge School 1st XI vs  Eastbourne College
On: Thursday, 09 Feb 2017
Venue: at Home

This was a welcome result in a good game after a long and tiring Half Term (with the added bonus of the Cras on Tuesday). Our stats so far, in all games, of p16 w12 d1 l3 with 73 goals scored against 25 tell their own story. I haven't counted but I suspect that Dan with 26 has scored more goals than we have won shorts!

Eastbourne were well organized and didn't give us much space despite the majority of the possession. Our only short was closed down but Charlie managed to break the deadlock with a steal and fine finish. They replied with a perfectly executed 4 on 2 breakaway after an interception on their 22. Dan worked his magic once again to restore the lead only to be countered by a short for them finished at the third attempt; so 2-2 at half time.

The second half saw us much more dominant with Dan posing a real threat. He scored another great goal and could have had more but for the close attention he was now receiving! At 3-2 up with five minutes to go we managed to have 10 men in their 22, which continues to excite the crowds (not least some boisterous supporters from the footballers!) but add to my grey hairs.

Time for some well earned rest before rising to the challenge of 4 tough fixtures and retaining our St George's Sixes Trophy.
