Stowe School Boys-U15B vs  Eton College
On: Thursday, 28 Sep 2017
Venue: at Home

Stowe produced an outstanding defensive performance to win 19-10 against a good Eton side. Defence is fast becoming the cornerstone of the JCB's strategy and in the first half Stowe weathered a strong barrage of Eton attacks, ceding just one try to trail 5-0 at half time. Stowe exploded into the second half with a try for Barney Cunningham after a break by Oscar Koomen. Eton hit back to go ahead 10-5 but renewed attacking pressure opened a gap and Joey Gwena ran under the posts. Xander Brett added the conversion to put Stowe ahead 12-10. The final 5 minutes were tight, with Eton pressuring the Stowe defence. But the defensive strength would finally tell when a loose Eton pass was picked up by Gwena who ran the length for his second try in the last play of the game. Brett converted to finish the game 19-10.
