Match Report
Berkhamsted School Boys-U15A vs  Watford Grammar School for Boys
On: Saturday, 04 Oct 2014
Venue: Away

It was another day at the office for the U15As who cruised to victory against Watford. It wasn’t our most convincing performance to date; however, there were still signs of improvements from the previous week. Excellent performances from Cooper and Godsell set the platform for us to go forward and the pace of the game at times was just too quick for Watford to cope with. Lewis managed to score another 3 tries again to add to his ever growing tally.

The first half was dictated by Berkhamsted and Watford saw very little of the ball defending relentlessly. Lewis broke the deadlock within 5 minutes with a well taken out wide. Munday and Richardson followed in quick succession with Smart converting all 3. Lewis scored his second just before half time after going poaching for the ball coming off his wing. Running a great line in the middle of the park Lewis broke 2/3 tackles to cruise over the line to make it 26-0 at half time.

Watford were raged by the way they hadn’t seen much of the ball and they were determined to get their own back at the start of the second half. We were asleep and again it was our slow reactions which let us down. After some excellent defence with standing the Watford charge on our own line a penalty led to a quick tap and Watford managed to go over unopposed. This gave us a wakeup call, but to Watford’s credit they didn’t want it to be one way traffic like the first half. Fortunately Scott’s elusive feet came into play to take a well finished try to get the ball rolling. Wood and Lewis (to grab his hat-trick). All 3 were converted by Smart to make the final score 47-7.
