Match Report
Berkhamsted School Boys-U15A vs  Haberdashers' Aske's School for Boys
On: Saturday, 24 Nov 2012
Venue: at Home

This was a physical encounter between two sides which showed much quality. On a cold, wet and windy day, it was soon evident that control of the ball and defensive patterns were going to be crucial.

Haberdashers’ platform was created around their powerful No 8 who made many strong runs into the Berkhamsted defence. There were also signs that the wingers could be dangerous runners. However, they did lack some of the cutting edge that Berkhamsted possessed.

Tom ffitch, Scott Duguid and James Waller were extremely abrasive both in attack and defence. Ground was gained by direct running and effective offloading. Defensively, ffitch lead by example, as did the big boys up front. The try, scored by Timi Sanusi, showed real quality as the winger set off from his own half, beat several players and scored under the posts.

Haberdashers’ scored half way through the second half to make the score 7-5 so the game could still have gone either way but a combination of resilience and quality saw Berkhamsted through to a well-deserved victory. Ffitch punished some ill-discipline from the away side with a penalty late on.

Tries: Sanusi
Conversions: ffitch
Penalties: ffitch
