Match Report
Berkhamsted School 1st XV vs  Bedford Modern School
On: Saturday, 13 Oct 2012
Venue: at Home

Won 39 - 7

We were unsure just what to expect from Bedford Modern and it was pleasing that we were able to continue the good work in the first half of the season recording another fine victory. We had to bump and bruise our way to the win and although we failed to convert large amounts of possession and territory into a larger margin of victory we should be pleased with our general performance. The points were mainly scored, once again, through tries from the backs: 7 in total, all were well worked and well deserved after the grunt and graft of the conscientious forwards helped set the platform. Missed kicks for goal were not crucial this weekend or last for that matter, but they may well be in potentially tighter matches.
On reflection, there is much to be pleased with in this performance but I do feel we were guilty of squandering a few good chances at the start and end of the match. Nevertheless our defence was resolute and uncompromising and our attack was powerful and penetrative. Good games from Iain Billington, Chris Katanchian, Mobolaji Sanusi and Charlie Rider helped secure the win, but it was undoubtedly a true team performance.
A week of hard training, House rugby and a trip to see Saracens practise follows.

Tries: Rider x2, Sanusi, Atherden, Hart, Bragg, Jones
Conversions: Holt, Thomas
