Saturday 26th September PGS vs Brighton College

The day was sweltering, the U.14b's relaxed like lion cubs in the shade of a yew tree. They looked relaxed calm and collected, even when they heard that Brighton College was going to be late for the kick off. When Brighton did appear they seemed like massive, horrible hairy
utes, fortunately it was the U.16A's. A sign of relief was heard through the U.14's camp! Snowball and Wheeler led from the front when kick off eventually occurred. Charlie Wheeler playing out of his skin tackled everything that moved and playing like Heinrich Brussow at the tackle area, some may call him a cheat, I call him the Afrikaans destroyer. The game got into the flow when Rohan Alawhat scored a rampaging try from his own 22m line. Running blindside he went around the Brighton players and scored. In fairness to him he could have run around them again and again at the speed and ferociousness of his movement. Breen converted and the game began again. A scrum in the centre of the park led to a Dan Breen chip over the top. Alawhat got on the recieving end of it, popped it off the top to Joe Dennis who struggled his way to the line with two Brighton players on his back. Try time! Breen converted
illiantly. Brighton played some flowing rugby and scored from the kickoff. Half time was called. From the off PGS stepped up and gear and dominated play, except in the scrum area. Their lack of size meant they lost ball after ball, but again an Alawhat special ended in a try. Breen missed the kick but PGS were clear by 14 points. Brighton ended the game with a try against the run of play. They converted and the game finished 19-12 to PGS. They boys played with pride, similar to that of the lion on their blazers. A huge well done goes to Charlie Wheeler and again George Dear for being everywhere on the pitch. 5 down and not a loss in sight! Fantastic.
