King's College 1st XV Full Report

King's College 17 v Blundell's 27

A somewhat lacklustre performance from the 1st XV saw them hand the advantage to Blundell's in a number of key areas. After a positive start, where King's controlled the ball well, they were not able to convert pressure into points. King's struggled to contain the hard running Blundell's back row and wide players as missed tackles proved their undoing throughout the match. Despite conceding 10 early points, King's did at times put together good passages of play and some excellent recycling saw Zach Spiers crash over for the first King's score. Blundell's were always in control throughout the match although King's did look more assured in the 2nd half exerting good pressure and dominance in key areas. Bryn Llewellyn muscled over for a well worked try after backs and forwards linked well and at the death Laurie Moorhead cut through the defence after a quick penalty and good hands. King's will feel they under performed in this fixture but must look to eliminate defensive errors and missed tackles in future games.

Tries: Zach Spiers, Bryn Llewellyn, Laurie Moorhead
Conversion: Will Potter
