Match Report
King's College, Taunton Boys - 1s vs  Clifton College
On: Saturday, 09 Feb 2019
Venue: at Home

The snow and match scheduling meant that this was the first match for 3 weeks and it was fairly evident throughout a scrappy match. With the U16s playing separately in preparation for their cup match next week, new combinations had to be accommodated and initially this looked to be working well. King's spent much of the first 10 minutes attacking and deservedly went ahead with a nice finish from Jacques Banton. The rest of the half saw similar pressure but with little reward; Ed Hunt, Josh Whitemore and Luke Oldknow going close but the team also being guilty of perhaps expecting to over-run a limited opposition. The second half followed a similar pattern and became increasingly scrappy, with too many diagonal passes being easily cut out and not enough running off the ball to create space. The defence generally played well and Matt Osborne made a fabulous triple save in the first half. Harry Geddes was man of the match for his consistent tackling and high quality distribution.
