Match Report
King's College, Taunton 1st XV vs  Blundell's School
On: Saturday, 22 Sep 2018
Venue: at Home

King's 1st XV played their first home game of the season in driving rain against local rivals from Devon, Blundell's. After a chastening defeat last year, King's were determined to produce a better performance and played with tenacity in the first half. After a period of pressure, a clever grubber kick by Oli Walrond put Victor Ogana through to dive onto the ball and boost the confidence of the team. The powerful Blundell's no.8 made a break in open play to level scores at halftime.

In the second half, Blundell's exerted an effective territorial kicking game and applied pressure on the King's lineout. In spite of some stout defence, the Blundell's team prevailed 24 v 5 in the end. Overall, a considerable improvement one season on. Some areas to improve, but certainly a positive performance.
