Match Report
Hurstpierpoint College U15 vs  Dartford Grammar School
On: Tuesday, 23 Nov 2004
Venue: Away

Dartford GS intially provided some stiff opposition, especially at rucks but the power of the Hurst forwards began to tell quite quickly. Ed Bowden and Jordan Trayfoot made big gains in open play and the Hurst backs were afforded space to run. Three tries in the first half gave the Hurst team more confidence and after half time they made their superiority count with some good continuity and handling.
Despite a reorganised back line after Ben Ventham had to come off two minutes into the match, the backs showed good running lines and slick hands. Jack Maybank finished the game with a flourish under the posts and banged over the last two conversions for good measure.
A potentially very tricky fixture was negotiated with commitment and patches of good play. The whole squad contributed to the victory and has made selection for the next game very difficult. Many thanks also to the parents and staff who supported the boys on the touchline.

Man of the match: Jordan Trayfoot
