RGC 10 Glenalmond 21 [SRU S2 scores]

Won by 36-17 in real scores

After the two hour trip to Aberdeen, the U.14 A XV got off to a flying start with three early tries. However, our hosts started to use their forwards to good effect with a solid driving game around the fringes. Their pressure paid off and by the middle of the second half the game had become pretty much one way traffic as Glenalmond defended but conceded three tries to make it 17-17. Not looking good and the momentum had swung completely in favour of RGC.

However, all the hard work undertaken on the training pitch then came into effect. Having hardly seen any ball of our own for 30 minutes, we suddenly broke away, moved it through several pairs of hands and scored the key try. Two more followed in quick succession as our pace and fitness - and impressive support work saw a grand finale. Three early and three late tries sealed a 36 - 17 away win [21 - 10 in SRU junior scores]. A heartening win and very well deserved reward for the boys and coaches after 10 days of hard graft and commitment. Next match v North Berwick High School on Saturday 20th September.
