Match Report
Austin Friars Boys-U15A vs  cumbria schools
On: Thursday, 08 Mar 2018
Venue: Away

The U15 sevens squad took part in the County Festival at Penrith on Thursday. The first game was against a physical Workington side where the small pitch suited our opponents and prevented us from using our pace. We were slow out of the blocks in the first half, but a much improved second half where Cameron Sabouni was making inroads meant that we closed the gap, but eventually lost three tries to two.

Our second opponent was Beacon Hill, Aspatria and here we started to play to our full potential, with Archie Wood and Henry Low scoring some excellent tries in a comfortable win.

After a reshuffle of the groups we next played Ullswater Community College and Richard Rose Central Academy and were victorious in both of these games. Some fine distribution from Matthew Whitehead, Spencer Lancaster and Ben Tiffen meant that we started to play with more width, giving Oscar Roberts and Adam Scott a chance to show their speed. Our defence also improved with Tom Wood, Kiamid Ghanbari and John Meakin to the fore.

Three wins from four games is an excellent result and all the squad played their full part in the success of the team.
