Captain Sid Kerr reports on today's opening match.

Unfortunately we lost our first match on tour 3-0. We played with passion and conviction only to concede two late goals. A little nervous we gave away an early free kick on the edge of the box which led to a sloppy fifth minute set piece goal but from there on grew in confidence, having about sixty five per cent of the first half possession.

A couple of missed chances at the end of the first half meant that we went into the half time break confident that we could overhaul this slender 1-0 deficit.

We continued to press throughout the second half, once again having the majority of the play but could not convert a couple of half chances. Going into the last fifteen we knew we had to keep pushing. Mr Martin made some wise tactical changes which unfortunately led to more missed chances.

With the continued push forward in search of the equalizer, we left ourselves open at the back late on and handed Cornella FC a couple of late goals.

We tried hard with Fine performances from Morgan Males, Henry Kerr and Ethan Nelson Roberts but I feel Morgan was the man of the match.

We will of course put this early defeat behind us and try to up our game for this evenings match v E.F.M.O Boadilla.

Sid Kerr.
