Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School 1st XV vs  Bolton School Boys Division
On: Saturday, 09 Jan 2016
Venue: at Home

Despite the rainfall during the week and, in fact in the minutes before the kick off, the match was played with ambition and endeavour by both sides. True, the 0 - 0 half time score would suggest that there were errors all over the field yet this does not tell the full story; Bolton were unlucky not to score twice and MGS failed to support two clear breaks that should have seen tries scored.

Half time saw a raft of substitutions for both sides and as the game ticked on the physicality that MGS brought to the breakdown began to tell. Tries from Pozniak (T), Green, Neild, Vardon and Currie saw a final score of 36-0 but this was anything but the one sided affair that is might suggest. It should be noted that MGS started the game with only two year 13s on the field, a good sign for next season.
