Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School 1st XV vs  Bolton School Boys Division
On: Wednesday, 28 Jan 2015
Venue: Away

~~A real mixed performance which was very much controlled by the weather, wet underfoot, Gale force winds and sleet and snow blizzards throughout. Both teams failed to capitalise on scoring opportunities during a hectic first half. MGS had the gale behind their backs and dominated territory, but the Bolton pack tackled well and forced a number of turn overs for MGS to turn around only 10-0 in front.
The second half was a demonstration of how to play wet weather rugby, keep it tight, look after the ball and play a possession game. This we did superbly well and totally controlled proceedings. The pack worked tirelessly, none more so than Ryan Beale and Peter Woodcock who thoroughly deserve the MOM award, and the backs tried to get themselves into the game at every opportunity, even if it was just to get warm.
A horrible day, but a decent performance.
