Match Report
Bloxham School 1st XV vs  Bedford Modern School
On: Wednesday, 27 Sep 2017
Venue: Away

Bloxham booked their place in Round 2 of the Cup with a big win at Bedford Modern. The home side were outgunned and struggled to cope with the pace and power of the Bloxham pack, with Fred Betteridge making some damaging breaks. He and brother Oli each scored two tries, as did George Price, while Toby Staveley Parker marshalled his back line brilliantly. Percy Hunt punched holes in the Bedford Modern defence every time he made a break, scoring with a great long-range effort. The other tries were scored by Freddie Symons, Jonnie Hand and Oli Hart, with Staveley Parker kicking five conversions. In a truncated second half, there was time for a try by the home side before Oli Betteridge capped an efficient team performance with a well-taken try. Round Two now awaits, where Bloxham will have a home match in a fortnight’s time against either Lawrence Sheriff or Northampton School for Boys.
