Match Report
Reading Blue Coat School 1st XV vs  Desborough College
On: Monday, 11 Sep 2017
Venue: Away

A convincing and dominating display with Will Perkin, Teo Beckett, Henry Heath and Mickey Adetunji getting a try a piece, James Rogers scoring two. Josh Taylor got his hat trick within the first minute of the second half. Attacking play was sublime, with finesse and support everywhere. The kick chase tactic worked well, scoring 3 tries from this. With our focus all on attack, at times we looked like we had forgotten how to tackle, falling off easy tackles and making hard work for ourselves, However, we stayed strong on our line and were determined to keep a clean sheet.

Man of the match Christian Scott

A dominating performance in attack, with some fine moves off set piece and open play. The players continue to support each other going forward, looking to play quick ball and off loading out the tackle. However, this was the first time our defence was tested with some big ball carriers from Desborough, and at times looked as though we were going to concede a try. Our defence stayed strong but our first up tackles were poor and we made the game a lot harder for ourselves in defence. Something to build upon for stronger opposition. The attacking style of rugby was a delight to watch though, with some excellent kick and chase, which brought about 3 of our tries.

Second round of the Vase, we play Reading on Saturday 7th October, at home.
