Match Report
Reading Blue Coat School 1st XV vs  City of London Freemen's
On: Saturday, 23 Sep 2017
Venue: Away

A very close game with a physical Freeman team. We generated plenty of quick ball and had a lot of opportunities to score but unfortunately we were not clinical enough to take the chances. Joe Thompson eventually broke the deadlock and scored an easy try from plenty of phases from the forwards. Half time came and we were only 7-0 up, having most of the possession. The second half was a battle of who would score first. Some excellent lineout work and strong running from Ed Martin produced the next try, with Will Dexter getting the conversion. Freeman came back and scored a try under the posts to make it 14-7 with a few minutes left on the clock. Our defence was incredible and Freeman kept attacking with wave after wave but just couldn't get through our strong tackling and desire to keep them out. Tremendous work rate from Joe Thompson kept us in the game and eventually Freeman ran out of time.

Final Score 14-7.

A special mention to Sam Jolly for his debut for the 1st team and putting in an excellent performance

Man of the match to Ed Martin.
