Visit from St Hilda's Argentina

Last week we hosted St Hilda's, from Argentina, who were on a sports and music tour. The hockey match was very close with the girls learning very quickly how to cope with aerial balls! We fielded a mixture of our 1st and 2nd team and they all worked very well together. it looked like it would end in a draw when Francisca Boyling managed to sneak the ball past their very good keeper with a great goal. The game ended 1-0 to Friars.

The U17s played 7's rugby. It was a competitive match with many tries scored but it was Friars who won 47-27.

Next was volleyball, a game we only occasionally play - how would we fare? It was a fantastic atmosphere in the gym with supporters cheering on both teams. The first 2 matches St Hilda's won and in the final match we mixed up the teams. Both teams thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Finally we were treated to a concert in the chapel, including some Argentinian rock music and a beautiful lullaby by the choir. Our Brass group also played a few pieces. To finish many pupils were taught to tango!

Many of our pupils hosted and were really sad to see the friends they had made depart. It was a fantastic few days and we hope to see St Hilda's again in a few years.
