Today we played our 3rd game of the tour, on one of the smallest pitches most of us had ever seen. After mutual agreement we decided to bowl first and quickly reduced them to 15-2 with wickets from Tyler and Joey, but St David’s were a strong team and fought hard posting a total of 210 (all out) from their 35 overs.
After a quick start with runs from Tom Iaciofano and Amrit Basra we were going at the run rate. An amazing innings from Tyler Mills saw big shots all around the ground. With Tyler on 90, and us needing 20 off the last 3 overs, we looked like we could chase the runs down with ease, but once Tyler fell and a few wickets went down in succession, fell 9 runs short on 201 all out of the final ball of the game.
Despite the loss, this was a far better team effort, with good performances both with bat and ball. A couple of drop catches proved costly in this match, but on the whole, we can be pleased with the effort.
In the evening we ate at Umbrellas, and American style restaurant just off the beachfront, where we treated ourselves to starters, mains and desserts.
