Four Christ College pupils will be joining the cream of Welsh youth rugby over the Easter Holidays at an international rugby festival.

Christ College's 1st XV Captain Ed Davidson will line up with Sean Cook, Oli Blandford and Will Morris to form part of the Crawshay's Welsh Youth squad that will be travelling to Portugal to take part in the 2012 Portugal Rugby Youth Festival. It will be the fourth time that Crawshay's Youth have participated in this event.

The boys caught the eye of the Crawshay's selectors when playing for the Christ College 1st XV against Crawshay's Youth back in November, which resulted in them being invited to play for Crawshay's Youth in fixtures against Monmouth School, Millfield School and the Independent Schools Barbarians.

Head of Christ College Emma Taylor said: "The Crawshay's Welsh Rugby Club has a long and distinguished history and selection should be considered a real honour. It will cap a great season for these young men who have played such a prominent part in the Christ College 1st XV and 1st VII."

All four boys have also played for Luctonians RFC, rising through their junior rugby system. Simon Green-Price of Luctonians RFC said: “It's absolutely fantastic that these boys are following in Old Breconian and Luctonians 1st XV player Will Burton's footsteps, and have earned selection onto the Crawshay's Welsh Tour. The boys were part of a very good Luctonians age group team before committing to Christ College .”

Crawshay's Welsh RFC invites players from all over the world but encourages Welsh rugby talent or rugby talent within Wales whenever possible. Many internationals have played for the Club in seven, ten and fifteen-a-side matches. The Club also runs a Youth XV who play at Under 18 and Youth levels. It selects boys from all over Wales and gives them every opportunity to show their rugby talent.
