Broadlands Going Strong

Over the last couple of weeks our Boys Football Team in Year 8, Year 10 and Year 11 have played their fourth round of the ESFA National Cup games and they have all won!!

The Year 8 boys produced a fantastic result winning 5-2 against Somervale School. Conor Sheehan taking the headlines scoring a hat-trick with Lewis Ellington and Mason Bean rounding off a superb victory. We are now through to the last sixteen schools and face either Allenbourn Middle School from Poole or King Edward Community Collage from Torbay away. The game to be played by 3rd December.

Our Year 10 boys travelled to Brimsham Green, South Gloucestershire, and put in a determined performance to win 4-3. This was not our best performance but the boys did enough to see us through to the fifth round and will now travel south to West Exeter Technology School on Tuesday 6th December.

Our Year 11 boys had to overcome Nailsea School, who knocked us out in the County Cup last season. From the beginning we could see this was going to be a very difficult game but against the run of play Joe Osborne gave Broadlands the lead with a neat finish. Nailsea did equalize just after half time with a well deserved goal. With fifteen minutes to go Mickey Parsons came off the bench and scored a superb individual goal to send Broadlands through to the fifth round. We now face Exmouth Community College Thursday 1st December at Keynsham Town FC 3.30pm kick Off.

To have three year groups through to the 5th round in the National Cup is an amazing achievement. Well done to all the boys teams.
