Kings College 2nds V’s Richard Huish 24 -5

Well life is like a roller coaster so the song goes… and so it is with the Dog’s of War. After a close encounter with Downside on Saturday we stepped up on Wednesday to produce some fine rugby.

Toby ‘Talisman’ Glazebrook and our own Scrappy Doo (aka Matt Bullman) driving everyone forward we kicked off and took the game to Huish. Freddie ‘alseep’ Thornhill found time to catch the ball at the first lineout and from the ensuing maul Toby Stone scored, which is odd as the last time he hit the ground a player ran away and scored.

With the half time whistle sounding and the game poised on a knife edge our own happiness in a jar Dr Snell came on and gave us the good news; there was everything to play for!

From the kick off the boys dug in and pushed forward allowing Zac Stickland to give a great cross field kick for Angus Crouch to run in under the posts. With Isaac Rippin not knowing where to run and James Jelbert helping him on the way the zig-zag running of the backs genuinely deceived the Huish backs.

The Dogs of War are built upon the team; everyone is the team and no one is above team. Together we are one and this shows the forth coming years what to look forward to!
