Kings College 2nds V’s Kingswood 2nds 5 - 52

The growing confidence of the King’s 2nd XV took a massive blow on Saturday as they were overpowered by a confident and unbeaten Blundell’s team who controlled the game throughout.

King’s were stunned by two early tries, both converted being 0-14 down after 15 minutes, galvanised the team. With Dylan Ker spurred on by the cheering crowd (his mother and younger brother) attacking the Blundell’s try line from all angles, and Zac Stickland controlling things out wide meant defence soon became attack.

The crunching tackles of Angus Crouch and Toby Glazebrook could not hold the continued onslaught of the Blundell’s back line, the onslaught soon took its toll on Freddie Thornhill who had to slump off into the arms of his own support team. The half time whistle coming at 0 –26, King’s had done well to still be in the game.

With Toby Glazebrook’s team talk pushing them onwards the 2nd XV came out of the blocks with renewed energy. However, saving the best until last Zac Stickland spotted a gap and with a neat off load Angus Crouch scored proving class is constant
