Match Report
King's College, Taunton U15A XV vs  The King's School, Ottery
On: Wednesday, 27 Sep 2017
Venue: Away

Another outstanding performance saw the U15As see off tough opposition 43-19 in the Natwest Cup 1st round that sets up a mouthwatering tie with Ivybridge College.

Superb support play allowed King's to secure ball at the breakdown yet at times were too slow to set up play therefore allowing Ivybridge to counter-ruck and cause problems. This aside, when the ball was used quickly the King's back line was again superb at creating space through excellent distribution from Blakey and Smeed before confusing running lines from Charlie Spurr and Hugo Larkin, leaving space for the pace of Oli Mathews and Billy Turner to exploit.

Sonny Baker was yet again outstanding both in defense and attack by making numerous cover tackles and re-gathering possession, yet using his speed to break the gain line at will.

Tireless work rate from Ethan Jordaan, Will Hall, Tom Newman, Connor Morrall and the rest of the forward pack put King's Ottery on the back foot for the majority of the game, yet when required every member of the King's team tackled hard and showed they are not just a side that can attack, with a huge improvement in defensive line speed displayed.

Bring on Round 2!
