Match Report
King's College, Taunton 1st XV vs  Weston College
On: Wednesday, 27 Sep 2017
Venue: at Home

After a chastening defeat v Blundells in our last match, this was a much improved display by the Kings 1st XV against Weston College in the opening round of the Natwest National Cup competition, winning 26 v 14. Kings started brightly with a try from a bullocking run by Gabriel Mead, but Weston soon came into the game with some powerful running from their forwards and good use of the blindside. Indeed, our visitors were dominant for most of the 1st half with Kings struggling to gain territory in the game. However, the boys were resolute and well organised in defence and did well to hold Weston out.

The 2nd half was a different story with Kings' tenacity in defence finally forcing errors from Weston, which were exploited well by Kings, who found some continuity in attack to score some specular tries, Dan Ludieke's the pick of the bunch. Two well taken late tries from the Weston winger could not mar a pleasing afternoon for Kings, who take on Colstons at home this coming Saturday.

MOM: Gabriel Mead
