King's College, Taunton Girls-U16A vs  St Peter's, Exeter
On: Monday, 18 Sep 2017
Venue: at Home

The U16A netball teams played a warm up match against St Peter's High School, Exeter. St Peter's are traditionally a strong netball school and the girls needed to be at the top of their game to beat them. From the first quarter King's played well structured netball and both Karis Chambers and Jemima Dufosee shot well. Phoebe Cooper-Simpsons and Abi White were strong in attack and fed the circle well. In defence, Alice Dymond and Jess Highton had the upper hand over the St Peter's shooters and ensured they did not get the opportunity to settle when shooting.

In the second quarter there were team changes and the squad adjusted their play maturely and continued to build on their lead. St. Peter's then altered their game plan and started to move the ball up the court with more speed, their shooting was more consistent and their defence unsettled King's shooters.

Going into the final quarter King's were leading 16-15 but knew they could not afford to make mistakes and it was imperative they marked tightly to secure a win. They stuck to their game plan and controlled the game throughout the final moments emerging 21-16 winners. A good win against a well disciplined side.

Player of the match: Karis Chambers.
