Match Report
King's College, Taunton Girls-U16A vs  Dean Close School
On: Saturday, 16 Sep 2017
Venue: Away

There were a few grumbles about the distance of the journey to Dean Close as the team boarded the bus at 2.30, but the first half was uneventful. However as travelling parents' updates and the satnav pushed arrival time towards that of the final whistle, Mr Smith pulled the team off the motorway. The second half was a task of getting girls back towards homes for the weekend: the White girls in Westbury on Trym, Alice Diamond via Temple Meads, and finally Anna Barzotelli in Clevedon, contending with Bristol City traffic and deluges on the way. Highlights were the multi-coloured terraces of Hotwells, and the sunshine through the rain around Clevedon, with stand-out performances from those who stayed on the bus all the way back to King's; DJ Ellie Clist played an uplifting mix sung with great musicality by the surviving team members. 'Walking on Sunshine' propelled us south through the drizzle, and 'Don't Stop Me Now' saw us home to Taunton after a 4 hour round trip.
