King's College, Taunton 2nd XV vs  Downside School
On: Saturday, 14 Oct 2017
Venue: Away

Kings College 2nds V’s Downside 2nds 20 - 22

With just two points deciding the difference between the teams, this is defeat at its cruellest.

Having just disembarked the coach, ran around the pitch once the starting whistle was blown by the cricketing superstar Alfonso Thomas! It was immediately apparent that King’s had been sleeping on the bus as it took two scores by Downside to wake the team up. Kings were truly hammered in all aspects of the game, during the first half although somehow Alex Carter crossed to score and dent the Downside’s confidence.

With a half time team talk that Theresa May would be proud of by Dr Snell, King’s came out in the second deserving their ‘Dogs of War’ title. Tries by Isaac Rippin and Angus Crouch closed the gap to just two points. However, with the clock ticking down King’s could not cross the white wash for that final score.

A tough defeat but one where everyone can walk with pride.

Man of the Match –.Isaac Rippin
