Match Report
King's College, Taunton 1st XV vs  Bristol Grammar School
On: Saturday, 07 Oct 2017
Venue: Away

A chastening loss to a strong Bristol Grammar School, but one in which the Kings boys played with tenacity and spirit. Playing into a stiff breeze, Kings were unable to clear their lines effectively and fell behind to 2 early tries with some pourous defence in our midfield, exploited by the BGS boys, who boasted two England players in their ranks. However, after 10min, Kings were spurred into life and constructed some dangerous attacking play of their own. Inspite of persistent attempts, the Kings' efforts were thwarted however with two long range tries from BGS coming from Kings' turnovers 5m from the opposition try line.

Although we are all disappointed at the scoreline, this was a better performance than the Blundells match 2 weeks ago and one which should be a source of confidence. A number of absentees due to illness, injury or the Pringle Trophy will return to the fold for our midweek trip to Exeter school in the Natwest cup 2nd round.

MOM: Will De Boemhler for his relentless ball carrying and determination.
