Match Report
King's College, Taunton U14A XV vs  Blundell's School
On: Saturday, 23 Sep 2017
Venue: Away

A beautiful day ensured King's could play some running rugby. The first 10minutes Kings were under the cosh but a strong Kings defence ensured Blundell’s did not capitalise on this territory. George Thomas took an interception to run from his own half to break to deadlock, successfully converted by Charlie Sharland. With their confidence growing, and ball retention improving a scrum 15 yards out from the oppositions line allowed George Thomas to score from the back of the scrum move straight off the training paddock. Scrummaging was secure all game with Dominic Frampton, Harry Bishop and Ryan Cubbin making up the front row. Blundell’s managed to score a try before halftime.

Second half started better with King's retaining ball and improving continuity allowing a number of phases to develop. Joe Eakhurst eventually capitalised on this with a great run on the left wing to score. Mickey Spiers nearly scored in similar fashion to Joe but was tackled just short of the whitewash. The last try came from George Thomas who took advantage of some disarray in defence and scored his third try. Final score 24-5.
