Prior Park responded well with strong running by their centre which tested the King's defence. An excellent try saving tackle was made by Oliver Baines which allowed King's to regroup after a number of attacks by the opposition. Charlie Sharland scored a great try with strong running to beat the opposition. The continued pressure by Prior Park allowed them to create continuity that led to them scoring three tries before half time one being an interception. Prior Park led into half time which meant King's had to respond well and dig deep in the second half.

They certainly rose to the challenge with Charlie Sharland scoring a great try to boost moral and raise heads. Good distribution by Ollie Drummond allowed the King's back line to gain some momentum. Replacement Toby Pattemore scored a great opportunistic try running 10 yards to keep the momentum going forward. With the slope in their favour in the second half, a free kick to the corner allowed Kings to have a line out 5 yards from the oppositions try line. King's lost the ball but a number of handling errors by the opposition in defence allowed Ollie Luxton to in typical flanker style scrabble for the ball to take a try. Aubrey Lindsey Smith worked well at number 8 ensuring good ball for replacement Ben Davies at scrum half. Replacement Ryan Cubbin disrupted play in the ruck and maul leading to a number of turn overs. Charlie Sharland finished proceedings with an interception to win the match 38-21. A fantastic opening game with greater continuity in the second half, with the referee commending the King's boys for their excellent discipline throughout. Tom Small was awarded man of the match for his excellent commitment and can do attitude.
