Match Report
King's College, Taunton Girls-U14A vs  National Schools (County Round)
On: Tuesday, 10 Oct 2017
Venue: Away

Wells were the first opponents for Kings in their pool matches of the county cup, and they played some good attacking hockey, and applied pressure to the Wells defence to win 4-0. Their 2nd match was against Queens, which was always going to be the toughest game, and although Kings had more of the attacking play they could not find the back of the net and it finished 0-0. In the final pool match kings had to score 7 goals against Downside to force a shoot out with Queens to see who would top the group. They managed 6 goals, 4 from Martha Lawford,so finished runners up and a semi final show down with Millfield. Despite a valiant battle and a great game in goal from Abbie Stride, Kings fell short losing 1-0. A great performance by the squad, with Martha Lawford scoring 6 goals, Katie Beale 2, and Rosie Taysom, who did not stop running and put all of the opposition under so much pressure, also bagged 2 goals. The defence were solid throughout, and the midfield and forwards worked really hard closing down the ball.
